A Depth Of Writing - June 30th 2023

I am so excited to share some insights about the evolution of our journey in the world of the Five Kingdoms. As we dive deeper into the saga with Book 2 of the "Ryn Dvarek" series, we are stepping into a narrative that has grown, matured, and expanded in ways that I am eager to unfold.
One of the aspects that made "The Last of Ryn Dvarek: A Journey Into Dreams" a distinct piece of storytelling was the shift in perspectives. In Book 1, the first half was told from the first-person perspective of Cael, while the second half allowed us to view the world through a third-person lens with Arimel narrating. This added a certain depth to our understanding of the characters and the world they inhabit.
In Book 2, the division is less about perspectives and more about growth and location. While I don't want to give too much away, I can say that we're traversing a larger timescale. The narrative of Book 2 spans several years, contrary to the few months (albeit longer ones in the Five Kingdoms) in Book 1. This gives us the opportunity to experience profound growth and transformation in our main characters - a journey of evolution that I believe you'll find as thrilling as I do.
Where Book 1 was about establishing a foundation, creating a rich world full of history and diverse cultures, Book 2 pivots to focus on the individuals within this world. We're honing in on a labyrinth of interconnected plot points, making the narrative denser, more action-packed, and briskly paced. We're weaving a complex tapestry of events that I hope will keep you on the edge of your seats.
While the world-building was a key aspect of Book 1, Book 2 takes a different path. We are expanding the known universe, yes, but the spotlight is on the depth of the people who populate this world. It's a subtle shift from an epic landscape to a more personal, human-scale drama set against that landscape. This change, I believe, will make the events that unfold resonate deeper and feel even more engaging.
We're on an exciting path of transformation - both in terms of our characters and our narrative. It's a testament to the fluidity of storytelling, its potential to adapt, expand, and throw surprises at every turn. I hope you're as excited about these changes as I am and look forward to joining me in this ever-evolving journey.
